1. Fancy Grade (Highest/Premium Quality)

This is the top, premium grade. The standards are extremely strict:

100% Open Shells: Every single nut must have a naturally split, open shell.

Handpicked Majority: 80% of the nuts are the highest-quality “handpicked” split type.

Minimal Defects: Almost no stains, shell pieces, or loose kernels are allowed. Many defect categories (like deformed shells or discolorations) are not allowed at all (N/A).

Very Fresh: It has the lowest allowable mold content, indicating superior handling and freshness.

2. Extra Grade (High Quality)

A high-quality grade with much tighter limits on defects. Almost all shells must be open, with very few closed ones. Defects like stains, deformities, and insect damage are very low. The nuts are more uniform in size and appearance.

3. Grade 1 (Standard Quality)

A step up from Grade 2. The requirements are stricter, allowing slightly fewer defects. For example, there are fewer tight shells, stained nuts, and deformed shells compared to Grade 2. This is a good, standard quality.

4. Grade 2 (Lowest Quality)

This is the most basic, acceptable grade. It allows for the highest amount of defects. You’ll find fewer perfect, wide-open shells and more nuts that are tightly closed or have stains, deformities, and size differences.
